Meeting of the Waters

A classic every piper should know. Meeting of the Waters is a four-parted 4/4 march — the first two parts are traditional, and Donald MacLeod added the third and fourth.
Watch the even eighth-note runs. In bar 3 of nearly every line, eight even eighth notes in a row give you nothing to hold onto, so it's easy to speed up — pull back on the reins deliberately.
Stretch the D before the closing strike. In the closing phrase of every part, the D before the G gracenote strike gets held like a doubling, with the beat landing right on the G gracenote.
