A four-parted jig built for competition. This is the more recent four-part version of Donald MacLeod's original two-parted tune, with two additional parts added that make it suitable for solo piping competition.

Keep every GDE gracenote identical and tight. The GDE combinations that run through the first, third, and closing phrases need all three gracenotes the same small length, played close to the chanter rather than lifted off, for real rhythmic drive.

Don't let the paired high A's collapse into a doubling. In the second and fourth parts, both high A's before the thumb gracenote need to sound clearly — especially the first one — or the pair starts to sound like a high A doubling instead of two distinct notes.
