Cabar Feidh

The Short Version

One of the Great All-Purpose Tunes Cabar Feidh is so popular it's been written in several idioms — as a strathspey, reel, jig, and 2/4 march — but this lesson covers the classic 4/4 march version, built from just three rhythmic patterns.
D Throws from Short Notes The second part has D throws coming from a short B that's almost a gracenote — practice it with the notes even first, then gradually make the B shorter without lifting your fingers too high off the holes.
A Hidden Grip in Part Three An unfamiliar-looking embellishment at the start of part three is really just a G gracenote into a grip to C — written out as individual gracenotes instead of the usual grip notation.
