Bagpipe Essentials Collection #18: F Doublings

The Short Version

The F doubling is two G gracenotes on F. One G gracenote on F, then a second G gracenote on F — that's the whole movement.
Tight hands are the F doubling's most common problem. If you tighten up on the first G gracenote, the hand gets stuck and can't play the second gracenote — keeping the top hand relaxed is what fixes it.
All three fingers lift together, then the pointer comes down. The G gracenote is technically played with a single finger, but the fingers for the note after it lift at the same time — pointer up for the gracenote, middle and ring fingers up together for F — and dropping the pointer alone completes the movement cleanly.
