Afternoon at the Green Monster

The Short Version

It's a modern, round-style hornpipe, not the older dot-cut style. The sixteenth notes are played evenly rather than pointed. Each of the four parts has a distinctly different sound and feel, both rhythmically and musically.
The pele movement in part one needs to stay open and ripple off your fingers. It's a G gracenote on D, E gracenote on D, low G strike to D — keep it even and don't let it get stuck anywhere in the movement.
Part three's syncopation comes from a repeating three-note pattern layered over four-note hornpipe rhythm. That mismatch shifts the emphasis from the beat to the off-beat. In part four, keep the low-A jumps wide open and don't let your birls speed you up.
