The Stronger Fitter Piper #6: Arms and Core (HD Video)

The Short Version

Trainer John combines arm and core work in one routine to get through it faster. A one-sided dumbbell press forces your core to work just to keep you from tipping over, so you get two muscle groups trained in a single movement.
Standing on one leg turns the same press into a balance exercise too. Once you're comfortable with the seated version, doing it standing on one leg adds a lower-leg and balance component that carries over to marching in formation.
Floor crunches with the same dumbbell round out the routine and double as your rest break. You can alternate sets of the standing press with ab crunches on the floor, so one exercise rests the muscles the other one just worked.
