This is a tour through everything I actually carry in my pipe case, not a list of what I think you should own. From my drones and bag down to the tools I use for on-the-spot repairs, this is the real, working setup I travel with.
Being prepared means carrying backups for the things most likely to fail or run out — reeds, canisters, and tools. I always travel with spare drone reeds, spare canisters, a spare chanter set up and ready to go, and a small tool bag for quick fixes.
A few small extras — a hygrometer, custom earplugs, and my passport — earn a permanent spot in the case even though they're not piping gear. Little additions like these solve real problems on the road: knowing the actual conditions I'm playing in, protecting my hearing, and never being caught without ID when I travel with my pipes.
