Iain MacDonald: The Old Man of Storr (Slow Air)

⚡ The Short Version

This lesson features piper Iain MacDonald teaching The Old Man of Storr, a two-parted slow air by Jim McWilliams. It's a flowing, melodic tune well suited to grade four or five slow air competition, or simply for the enjoyment of learning a slow air.

The main technical hurdle is the B to B taorluath, which appears four times in the first part. Once you're comfortable with that movement, the rest of the tune, including a C doubling in the second part, falls into place fairly easily.
