I launch the Endurance Practice Chanter, built with R.G. Hardie, to solve the one problem every piper knows. It's the world's first practice chanter with a complete built-in moisture control system, keeping the reed completely dry through hours — even days — of playing.
I trace how far bagpipe technology has come while the practice chanter stood still. Synthetic drone reeds, canister moisture control systems, hybrid bags, and my own Tone Protector transformed the full bagpipe, but the instrument pipers use daily to practice saw almost no innovation until now.
Three replaceable endurance cartridges filter every breath before it reaches the reed. They come out for air drying or oven regeneration at 250°F, no disassembly required, and the chanter ships in regular, extended, and junior sizes.
