Jack Lee's new Premium Sheepskin bag puts real sheepskin on the inside and airtight synthetic suede on the outside. The idea is to get the feel and acoustic properties pipers associate with sheepskin without the seasoning and constant drying-out problems of a traditional hide bag.
Grommets make installing this bag much faster than a traditional tie-in. Three grommets handle the blowpipe and drone stocks with hose clamps, though the chanter stock still needs the traditional tie-in method.
Breathability and airtightness are a tradeoff across every hide type Jack offers. Sheepskin is the most breathable and dries out fastest, cowhide is the least breathable and stays airtight longest, and goatskin sits in between.
