Video Tune Case Study: The Pipers Cave (2/4 March)

The Pipers Cave is a traditional two-parted 2/4 March. It is reasonably well-known tune and often played by Grade 4 and 5 pipe bands. It's remarkable, to me, for one particular combination of note and embellishment which can the source of problems for many pipers. We discussed this particular problem here on the Studio previously in my post called Learn tunes efficiently by avoiding common mistakes. In that post, here's what I wrote: Wait for a doubling on the same note It is very easy to jump the beat when the note before and the note after a grace note or embellishment are the same note. Be aware of this common pitfall and wait for the beat. In the first bar of Bonnie Dundee, be aware of the tendency to rush the E doubling coming from E and wait for it.
