In a recent podcast about music teaching and performance, I first learned about Harvey Penick — considered to be one of the greatest golf teachers of all time. I was intrigued, since over the years I've always suspected there are many similarities between golf and the pipes. I've never played golf, but I appreciate that many golfers love to play and learn many lessons about life through their sport, the same way that pipers get hooked on playing their instrument and the many life experiences it brings. So, when I heard about Harvey and his famous Little Red Book, I had to get a copy. It's a quick read and about half of the book is non-technical and very applicable to pipers.
