Today's post features a newly discovered recording of the legendary piper Captain John A. MacLellan M.B.E. The recording was made by young piper Eric Bremner who was present at Captain MacLellan's recital in Seattle, Washington in 1976. Eric sent me an email recently sharing the exciting news that he'd found the original cassette tape recording has made made over 38 years ago. He generously gave me permission to share it exclusively with members of the Studio. The recording showcases Captain MacLellan's incredible piping abilities and he introduces his tunes with charm and style. Captain MacLellan was one of the most accomplished and famous pipers of all-time, serving as Pipe Major of the Seaforth Highlanders, winning all the big prizes in Scotland, and rising to the top of the piping world as first Director of Scotland's Army Bagpipe Music.
