Download today's featured exercise: Power Edres. This brand new exercise follows the same 8-4-2-1 pattern as the other exercises in the Power series. Edres are most commonly found in Piobaireachd, though they have been used by some modern day in light music tunes (hornpipes and jigs, for example). The edre is played: starting note e grace note to Low A f grace note to Low A E The edre looks like this written in pipe music: The edre looks like this in expanded form: As you can see in the expanded version, the edre is a Low A based movement with two grace notes (e and f). The edre can be played from any note on the scale, but it always ends on E.
