Today's post features a new exercise that will help you improve two important areas of your piping technique: doublings and crossing noises. The exercise combines elements of some of my favorite exercises, Power Doublings and How to Identify and Fix Every Crossing Noise. Download the new exercise Power Crossings with Doublings from All Notes Important things to focus on when playing: Play slow and controlled. Speed is not important. Play your doublings clean and clear. Listen for the "1-2" rhythm of the doubling. Review Power Doublings. Listen for a clean transition from the note to the doubling. This is the place where crossing noises happen. How to Identify and Fix Every Crossing Noise. Listen to a recording of the exercise. Let's keep the conversation going!
