Today's post features a series of exercises to improve the strength, control and precision of the ring finger on your top hand. For most of us, the ring finger is the least coordinated of our fingers. You can improve the basic dexterity of this finger by practicing E grace notes and embellishments that use the E grace note, but today's exercises will help you take it to next level. Check it out! Here's the complete exercise: Advanced E Strike Progression. Here's the expanded form of the G grace note strike on Line 2 of the exercise. Here's the expanded form of the doubling strike on Line 3 of the exercise. Here's a fantastic performance from a piper who has clearly mastered the E strike -- not to mention he has incredible technique in every other way, too! Let's keep the conversation going! Please your questions, thoughts, and observations in the comments below. Thanks in advance ...
