Here on the West Coast we are approaching the hottest time of the year. And this weekend, we have a bit of a heat wave, with the recent forecasts for tomorrow's Kamloops Games approaching 100 degrees F. Here on the BagpipeLessons.com Studio, we have discussed some solutions for playing your pipes in the cold. But what about intense heat? Today's lesson focuses on some things to look and provides some solutions to survive playing your pipes in hot conditions. Every year for the past decade, I've taught at the week-long piping summer school at St. Thomas Episcopal School in Houston, Texas. St. Thomas has an extensive pipe band program and has long tradition of excellence, including World Championship titles in the Juvenile category in five times.
