Over on the BagpipeLessons.com Blog, I've posted the first results from the Spring 2011 Online Piping Competition. http://bagpipelessons.blogspot.com/2011/06/first-results-for-spring-2011.html Back in January, I launched the world's first online bagpipe competition, and followed up with a second expanded and improved online competition for Spring 2011. We received over 180 entries from around the world in 20 different events in six competition grade levels. Each piper submitted their performance by YouTube video and the videos were judged by a world-class panel of judges. Each piper received a comment sheet. Check out the prize list and videos of the winners. I'm planning the next competition for Fall 2011 — probably September or so. It's a perfect way to test your skills against pipers from around the world. Even if you don't want to compete against anyone, you can enter the Ungraded, Evaluation Only Event and get a comment sheet from one of the world's top pipers.
