I recently came across this interview between author Kelly Corrigan and "sociologist and happiness expert" Christine Carter titled The Psychology of Success. In the interview, Dr. Carter elaborates on the importance of cultivating a growth mindset — that your personality, intelligence, skills, and abilities can be developed and that success is the result of hard work and effort. The interview is largely focused on parenting skills and helping kids develop a growth mindset but much of the information can be directly applied to people of any age. We discussed the growth mindset vs. fixed mindset previously on the Studio. But this interview makes the distinctions (and future implications of each) really clear. Great reading.
