On my recent trip to Scotland, I attended the Argyllshire Gathering at Oban. On Day Two, the light music events offered are Marches, Strathspeys & Reels, and Jigs. This year, the organizers opted for a "short leet" where the judges pick the top six players who are required a second time. This year, I managed to capture the entire final of the 'A' Strathspey & Reel on HD video. Take a listen to some of the world's best players, playing some of the most exciting and challenging tunes in the piping repertoire. Included for most of the players is a little of the tuning that takes place on the platform. You'll also notice the environment that the players must face: weather, onlookers, loudspeakers, athletics, other distractions.
